Rain continues to increase across the western half of Alabama tonight.

Heavy showers are over Northwest Alabama over Franklin, Marion, Lawrence and Winston Counties.

Some heavy showers are over Lamar and Fayette Counties.

The further south you go, the heavier the rainfall becomes.

A band of very heavy rain extends across Hale, Greene and southern Pickens Counties from near Greensboro to south of Carrollton to near Macon, Mississippi.

A solid area of moderate to heavy rain now covers much of Southwest Alabama. Very heavy rain is along the Mississippi/Alabama border of Washington and Mobile Counties.

Strong storms are offshore of the Mississippi Coast, heading toward Mobile and Baldwin Counties.

Dewpoints along the coast are near 70F. Severe weather is possible tonight over Southwest Alabama. Further north, isolated severe weather is possible overnight, especially as a cold front begins to approach from the west.

Rain will continue to overspread the area overnight. One to two inches of rain is possible.

Right now, we will just take the rain, thank you.
