“James,
We live at 901 Coosa River Road in Deatsville, or 7.3 miles east-northeast of the Autuaga County tornado touchdown last night. Attached is a pic of items found just in our yard. Our neighbors have picked up a lot of debris as well (including yearbook pages, shingles, pictures, insulation, etc.). I thought you would like to have a record of the location of actual tornado debris and the distance we are from the damage. I also sent this to the NWS in Birmingham. Keep up the great work of keeping us informed and safe!”

BELOW IS THE ORIGINAL POST FROM THIS MORNING ON THE AUTAUGA COUNTY DAMAGE…

I spent some time yesterday morning assessing the tornado damage in north Autauga County, near the Chilton County line at Boone’s Chapel. Governor Robert Bentley was there at this time, along with Jim Stefkovich and Mark Rose of the Birmingham NWS office. This will be rated at least an EF-3; three people were killed with many more injured. Just a reminder that tornado warnings are serious business.
