August Memories

Thanks to Irran Butler for these images… he writes:

“These pictures were taken at Bucks Pocket State Park in August this year with the drought in full swing. The road sides were lined with pine straw and leaves as November would usually find them. Many trees had died due to their unfortunate placement on the high, rocky, well drained soil held between the rocks forming the Jim Lynn Overlook.
This place always amazes me. I remember coming here as a small child (1957?). There were no improvements for public safety or even ease of access via the road (or what was passing for a road anyway). Photos exist of the particular excursion I remember, but I have no idea where to find them. Should I turn them up, I’ll email them in so you can see what it used to be like.”
