Severe storm just north of Columbus MS will be into Lamar County within the hour. Other storms are beginning to line up like trains over into West Central Alabama’s Pickens County.

Large hail will be a real threat with the stronger storms. Atmospheric profiles are prime for hail development. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for West Central Alabama and Central Alabama, south of Birmingham.

In addition, heavy rain will become a threat. Deep moisture is moving north and will interact with the frontal system over North Central Alabama to produce the potential for flooding through noon tomorrow. A flash flood warning was just issued for Monroe County MS.
