**No afternoon Weather Xtreme Video today**

GETTING WARMER: Dry weather continue this weekend across our state with warmer afternoons. We reach the low 80s tomorrow, followed by mid 80s Sunday. While the humidity will stay low tomorrow, dew points begin to creep up Sunday into the 60s, giving the weather a summer feel. Bring the sunscreen if you will be attending the Regions Tradition Senior PGA tournament this weekend at Shoal Creek.

NINETY DEGREE HEAT NEXT WEEK: A strong upper ridge means the warmest weather so far this year for Alabama early next week, with afternoon highs around the 90 degree mark Monday through Wednesday. Conditions will be humid, but we don’t expect rain due to the warm air aloft associated with the upper ridge.

NEXT RAIN: A cold front will pass through late next week, and will bring a chance of showers, and possibly a thunderstorm, Thursday night or Friday. The latest GFS suggests the rain will be rather light, and severe weather won’t be an issue. Then, much cooler will arrive for the following weekend (May 14-15) as the ridge is replaced by a deep upper trough over the eastern third of the U.S.

See the morning edition of the Weather Xtreme video for more on long range weather, but we still see no significant threat of severe weather for the next 15 days.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
