Super Storm Underway
Huge and very deep low west of the Washington-Oregon Coast this afternoon. Pressure as low as in some hurricanes. Much of the West is under the gun.
At mid-day, Walla Walla, Washington had a blinding dust storm underway with south winds gusting to 78 mph. Snow in the Sierra-Nevada Range will be measured in feet. Winds over the summits could gust as high as 150 mph!
The snow may get as deep as the bus and train station in Truckee, Calif.
Mike Wilhelm, 3340 Skywatcher for Vinemont, called our attention to this report from the NWS in Reno. Note the wind gusts so far today, as high as 163 mph! That will blow your hat off even if you have it full of Velcro!
