The Weather Service canceled the warning for Clay County when that storm weakened.
In the Birmingham Metro now…storms are lined up from east of Oneonta to between Springville and Moody to Leeds to between Liberty Park and the Colonnade to Pelham to Brent. Storms are fairly numerous over Bibb County. All of this activity is pushing to the south and south/southeast.
Storms are growing over southwestern Shelby and northern Chilton County from east of Montevallo to northwest of Jemison.
Storms are forming just northwest of Gadsden and could affect Riverfest activities in downtown. Another was just southwest of Gadsden near Attalla.
Storms over Dekalb County have passed east of I-59 near Collinsville and will move into Cherokee County.
Southern Clay County also getting lots of action right now, especially southwest of Rockford. That is a growing storm near Dadeville in Tallapoosa County.
To the east, a very strong storm near Bowdon GA will clip eastern Randolph County as it pushes south/southwestward.
All of the storms have heavy rain and lightning. The stronger ones could produce hail and strong, gusty winds.
