Madison
Morgan
Marshall
Jackson
DeKalb

This is because of snow, at times mixed with sleet. The snow will reduce visibility to between 1 and 3 miles at times producing minor accumulations on grassy areas, vehicles and elevated surfaces. Roadways will become wet, but no snow or ice accumulation is expected on the roads. In the valleys, the temperature will drop several more degrees to near freezing. In the higher elevations above 1,500 feet across far NE Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee, temperatures could dip to or just below freezing this evening allowing roadways to become slick in spots.
SEVERAL MORE COUNTIES IN NORTH/CENTRAL ALABAMA INCLUDED
At 4:35 p.m., the National Weather Service in Birmingham extended the Winter Weather Advisory to include Jefferson, Marion, Walker and Winston Counties until 9:00 p.m. It was already in effect for 9 other counties, mostly east and NE of Birmingham.
