Too Cold For The Thermometer

Thanks to Philip McGinley for this image… he writes:

“The thermometer reading is self evident, wind chill is not as bad that close to the house. The bluish haze is real, not a bad picture… It is the result of air moisture crystallization at such low temperatures (what am I telling YOU this for, you are a master of meteorology) The photo of the sun is interesting, that was taken at noon today! Slave Lake does not have many hours of light at this time of the year.

The location of the weather is Lesser Slave Lake, where my parents live and where I grew-up. If you are interested, the town of 8000 souls (even has a Walmart!) is located just 150 miles north and slightly west of Edmonton Alberta, Canada. Edmonton is the capital of the province with just over 1 million people.”
