An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player on the right sidebar of the blog. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

FINE FALL WEATHER: Another chill morning across our state, but not as cold as yesterday morning. Vic Bell up at Black Creek reports 39 degrees this morning; he dropped to 34 yesterday. Most other places are in the 40s. The day will feature a bright, sunny fall sky with a high in the 77-80 degree range as the slow warm-up continues.

REST OF THE WEEK: Expect sunny days and clear nights through Friday with highs generally in the 81-84 degree range tomorrow through Friday as warmer afternoons return. Lows will be mostly in the 50s.

OUR WEEKEND: Not much change. A weak wedge pattern could be setting up that could bring in some cooler air from the east thanks to a big 1032 mb high over New Jersey, so highs Saturday and Sunday should be close to 80. Lows this weekend will stay mostly in the 50s. The eastern counties should be a little cooler than the ones to the west.

And, the dry weather continues into early next week. Bottom line is that we don’t expect any significant chance of rain through at least 7 days. See the Weather Xtreme video for more long range ideas.

TROPICS: Our one tropical storm on the board, Philippe, will make a u-turn over the open Atlantic and is no threat to land. The rest of the Atlantic basin is very quiet.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. We will record this week’s episode tonight at 7:00 p.m. CDT… it will be a special preview of the upcoming National Weather Association annual meeting in Birmingham that begins in less than two weeks.
