An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player on the right sidebar of the blog. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

FABULOUS FALL WEATHER: Our long dry spell continues through the weekend. Afternoons will be warmer; highs will rise into the low to mid 80s tomorrow through Friday. The GFS and the NAM, in fact, are printing a warm 86 degrees Thursday afternoon, which should be the warmest day this week. Cooler air draining into the state from the east (from a big 1030 mb high over New Jersey) should bring temperatures down a bit by Friday and the weekend, with highs back in the 77-81 degree range. Nights will be pleasant, with lows generally in the 50s.

NEXT WEEK: No evidence for any real change at least for the first half of the week. Some moisture tries to work up into South Alabama Monday, but the chance of any rain up this way looks too low to mention in the forecast. Highs will remain mostly in the low 80s, with lows in the 50s. Very nice, benign October weather.

TROPICS: Tropical Storm Philippe will make a u-turn in coming days and will stay far at sea. No systems are close to the U.S. Some hint in Gulf of Mexico mischief in about 15 days… see the Weather Xtreme video for more long range ideas.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. We will record tonight’s episode at 7:00 p.m…. it will be a special preview of the annual NWA meeting coming up in Birmingham in less than two weeks. You can listen live via uStream here.
