**No afternoon Weather Xtreme video today… but you can watch the morning student briefing from the National Weather Association annual meeting below**

COLD FRONT COMING: Again I am writing this from the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, site of the 2011 annual meeting of the National Weather Association. Will be taking the 10 minute drive down Riverchase Parkway soon to get ready for ABC 33/40 News at 4, 5, and 6 in the studio, but we have had a wonderful day of presentations here with some really amazing information for all.

It is a warm October afternoon with Birmingham reporting 85 degrees at 2:00… Montgomery has soared to 87 with a good supply of sunshine. We stay warm tomorrow with a high in the low to mid 80s, but a cold front will pass through here late tomorrow night, bringing the coolest air so far this season by Wednesday.

We will continue to forecast a chance of showers and storms along the front late tomorrow into tomorrow night, but severe weather is not expected with marginal instability and shear values. Rain amounts should be 1/2 inch or less for most places.

CHILLY BREEZE WEDNESDAY: Showers will end early Wednesday morning, most likely during the pre-dawn hours, and we will forecast some clearing by afternoon with temperatures having a hard time reaching the mid to upper 50s along with a chilly north breeze.

FROST? Looks like we are headed down into the mid to upper 30s early Thursday and Friday morning; the best chance of frost seems to be early Friday when the wind will be light and variable. The colder spots across North Alabama will have a chance of experiencing their first freeze of the season as well.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK: Looks like a perfect fall weekend, with sunny cool days and clear cold nights. The high will be in the 60s, with lows mostly in the 40s. With the colors now beginning to show up nicely, it doesn’t get much better. Great weather for football, the races at Talladega, or anything else you want to do.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. We will have a special edition tonight, live from the National Weather Association annual meeting at the Wynfrey. We will stream the pep rally at 6:30, followed by the show at 8:00. See it all right here…

The next discussion will be posted here by 6:30 a.m. tomorrow… and we will have the student weather video briefing by 9:30 from the NWA. We will get back to the regular Weather Xtreme video production schedule Friday!
