**No afternoon Weather Xtreme video today… we are on the “one a day” holiday schedule through Sunday**

SEVERE CLEAR: The sky has cleared nicely over most of Alabama with the exception of the Tennessee Valley, and those clouds will dissipate within the next hour or so. As expected, the weather is cooler; Birmingham reports only 60 degrees at 3:00.

TERRIFIC THANKSGIVING: The weather doesn’t get much better. A cloudless sky with an early morning low in the low 40s, then warming into the mid 60s by afternoon. The weather will remain mostly sunny on “Black Friday” with a high in the mid to upper 60s.

WEEKEND CHANGES: Our weather stays dry Saturday with a partly sunny sky and a high the 67-70 degree range. Then, a batch of rain and storms will blow into the state late Saturday night and Sunday, with potential for 1 to 2 inches of rain. The good news is that global models still show absolutely no stability, meaning no significant chance of severe weather despite the impressive dynamics.

FOOTBALL SATURDAY: Indications are that any rain will hold off until after the Alabama/Auburn game is over. They play in Auburn Saturday afternoon and is televised by CBS. Temperatures during the game should be in the 60s. It will also be rather windy during the game with southerly winds 15 to 25 mph and possibly some stronger gusts. Showers and storms will increase late Saturday night and continue into Sunday when there will be a good chance of rain and maybe a thunderstorm.

NEXT COMES THE COLD: As the rain moves out late Sunday, much colder air blows in here Sunday night and Monday. And, with a deep upper low right overhead, dynamic cooling will bring thickness values low enough for snow flurries during the day Monday. The high will be only in the mid 40s with clouds hanging tough, making it a pretty raw day. Temperatures will remain below average for the first half of the week with only a slow warming trend.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.

I hope you and your family have a blessed and peaceful Thanksgiving. I will post the next Weather Xtreme video and discussion here tomorrow morning…
