Some Clouds Moving In

| December 18, 2011 @ 2:46 pm

Severe clear conditions were in effect for Alabama for much of this December Sunday, but clouds associated with a disturbance over Mississippi were producing some beautiful sky conditions back in Mississippi. High clouds will be followed by some lower altocumulus clouds spreading in from the northwest through the late afternoon hours. Some folks over Northwest Alabama could enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Those high clouds will thicken overnight, creating partly cloudy conditions for Monday.

Temperatures are in the middle and upper 50s. Overnight lows tonight will be in the middle 30s.

Tomorrow should be milder, with highs in the lower 60s.

Our next chance of rain will come Tuesday with some showers during the day and a line of showers and storms Tuesday night.

The morning run of the GFS threw out an interesting scenario of rain changing to snow on Christmas Day. Not a forecast at this time, but something that will be fun to watch. There is not much model agreement or forecast confidence for next weekend right now, but suffice to say, it looks unsettled.
