Alabama 811 | Know What's Below.

A 7:15 am Quick Look

| February 11, 2012 @ 7:22 am

So far, no reported flurries across North Alabama but there is still a good chance of a few. No big deal, no accumulation. Bitter cold continues to force its way into Alabama. Headed for a hard freeze tonight. About 19 or 20 in the Tuscaloosa-Birmingham-Anniston area but some colder teens in the valleys. Consider it a damaging freeze.

At 7 am, the wind chill was between 16 and 20 across the Tennessee Valley, some wind gusts as high as 30.

A great big, impressive high pressure system on the weather pap this morning. It extends from Central Canada southward deep into the USA. The main center (1043 millibars) was over Southeast South Dakota

James, Brian or Bill will have a more complete discussion a bit later. I am headed for a short power nap and cup of coffee cup number 4. Yummy!
