Tornado Watch Extended to Include Jefferson/St. Clair

The NWS has extended the tornado watch to include Jefferson and St. Clair Counties.

It goes til 9 p.m.

The tornado watch continues for Blount, Cherokee, Etowah, Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, Winston [AL] till 9:00 PM CST.

These are only the BMX counties. It also includes Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan Counties in the Huntsville area as well. Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale have been cleared.

The tornado warning has been canceled for Lamar, Marion and Fayette Counties. The tornadic signature has weakened a bit, but the storm is still capable of extremely high winds. It is approaching an arc from Carbon Hill curving down to Fayette. Folks from Berry to Oakman to Parrish and Jasper need to be in safe shelter.
