Storms Continue to Weaken Slowly

| February 29, 2012 @ 6:12 pm

Our line of storms extends from Albertville to Smoke Rise to Cordova to Reform early this evening. It continues to push southeast.

The storms are weakening are they push into a more stable airmass, dominated by a strong capping inversion.

Folks south of an east-west line drawn through Birmingham may not see much in the way of storms.

From the NWS:
…there are numerous trees down across northern Lamar County. One tree on home in Sulligent and shingles off several homes. This is from the strong bow echo that moved through Lamar, southern Marion and Fayette Counties earlier.

Scanner notes from John Talbot:

…Walker 911 Quiet
…Fayette Sheriff’s Office reported small tree down County Road 87 and 171 north.
