Glorious Easter Weekend

An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player on the right sidebar of the blog. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

ALL IS QUIET: Nice to see no storms on radar this afternoon; the sky is partly to mostly sunny across our state with temperatures generally around the 70 degree mark. The humidity is low, and the stage is set for a beautiful weekend.

We are still projecting highs in the 70s, with lows in the upper 40s tomorrow and Sunday. A sunny sky both days, and the humidity will stay low. A picture perfect Easter weekend for Alabama and the Deep South.

NEXT WEEK: The 12Z GFS hints at some risk of isolated showers Monday; we might consider that, but the air will be pretty dry and a big rain event is not expected. Then, a nice upper trough will form over the eastern third of the nation, pulling down some pretty chilly air by Tuesday and Wednesday. The 12Z GFS is coming in colder; inline with the ECMWF. We are still going to project lows in the 35-39 degree range for early Wednesday morning with potential for frost in the valleys and protected areas. Growers will need to continue to monitor forecasts as we get closer. We should note Thursday morning could be just as cold, especially for parts of Northeast Alabama. And, it looks like we will be dry through the latter half of the week.

See the Weather Xtreme video for more long range ideas and all the graphics.
