Early Friday Update–4:25 am

Scattered showers in progress over about the north half of Alabama and moving ENE.

While most of the showers were light, there were some moderate to heavy ones. Some of the heaviest were over the east part of the Tennessee Valley moving into Jackson County.

Some strong thunderstorms were over NE Mississippi ready to move into Extreme NW Alabama.

Thunder has been reported as far south as Warrior in North Jefferson County.

All of Alabama except the extreme south is under a slight risk of severe weather today and tonight.

The nearest Severe Thunderstorm Warning to Alabama was over NW Mississippi, including the Cleveland, Miss., area. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was still in effect for most of Arkansas and Extreme North Louisiana.
