Early Afternoon Update

| May 26, 2012 @ 1:40 pm

HEAT:
Temperatures across Central Alabama had reached into the lower 90s as of 1 pm with most airport locations reporting 92 degrees. So today is the hottest so far for 2012. And we still have a bit more of the day left with nearly full sun to take us a couple of more degrees higher.

CLOUDS:
Much of Alabama was under a field of cumulus clouds, those clouds that look like white cotton balls. The clouds should not have much impact on afternoon highs which are still expected to reach the 93 to 95 range.

BERYL:
Beryl has stalled about 330 miles north-northeast of Jacksonville, FL. There has been little change in strength with maximum wind at 45 mph. Little change in the forecast thinking as Beryl is expected to resume a motion toward the southwest around 6 mph later today and Sunday. Forecast track still projects a landfall very late Sunday or early Monday morning in the vicinity of the Georgia-Florida line just north of Jacksonville.
