Storms Increasing Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Walker, Fayette

A significant weather alert is in effect for these counties.

Brian actually saw a short lived wall cloud east of Adamsville.

This activity extends from Livingston in Sumter County to Eutaw to south of Tuscaloosa then to near Mc Calla then to near Birmingham.

New storm south of Jasper is intensifying also.

These storms have the potential to explode over the next hour or so and become severe.

There is significant damage from a tornado that hit Cullman just before lunch time.

Everyone in Central and North Alabama should remain alert to the latest weather information throughout the afternoon. A tornado watch is in effect until 6 p.m. CDT.

Even bigger activity is back over Central Mississippi where several tornado warnings are in effect. This severe weather will affect Central Alabama later this afternoon. Police in Ridgeland MS report a tornado on the ground in the Highland/Colony Park area. 100 mph winds were reported in Hinds County. A funnel cloud was reported over Clinton.
