Mid Morning in Alabama

| April 1, 2008 @ 8:43 am | 13 Replies

The line of strong thunderstorms that moved across North and Central Alabama earlier today has settled down into a broad rain area. That extends from Cherokee, Cleburne and Randolph county on the east side of the state westward to Sumter and Choctaw County along the Mississippi border.

While much of the rain is light to moderate, there was some heavier rain across Sumter County including the Livingston area.

The heaviest rain of all in this complex was across Central Mississippi from Jackson to near and south of Meridian. Lots of lightning in that area.

While everything is moving generally eastward, the whole system is slowly sinking southward.
