Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Hale/Tuscaloosa

Tuscaloosa County has been cleared from the warning. The strongest part of the storm is now over northern Hale County east of Akron.

The NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southern Tuscaloosa and northern Hale Counties in West Central Alabama. This warning does not include the cities of Tuscaloosa or Northport.
Strong storms have formed in the more unstable over West Central Alabama this afternoon where the sun has been out.
These storms will be moving into an area of higher helicity and will have the potential to spin. Isolated weak tornadoes are possible.
There was a report of a wall cloud with the cell that passed south of Tuscaloosa.
Other strong storms are over South Central Alabama from east of Montgomery to near Auburn.

* AT 308 PM CDT…THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDICATED A LINE OF
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS
OF 60 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM
MOUNDVILLE TO AKRON…AND MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH.
* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE…
