Lots of folks are driving over the river and through the woods this morning to get to grandma’s house, and we want them to be aware of another problem in addition to the pending severe weather event this afternoon and night.

It’s fog.

Dense fog covers parts of the eastern half of Alabama extending into Georgia this morning.

Visbilities are less than 1/4 in spots, which can significantly hamper travel.

Patchy dense fog is also over western sections as well, it is just not as widespread.

Be aware of the fog if you are driving this morning. Reduce speed when in fog and keep plenty of distance between you and the car ahead of you. Allow extra time to reach your destination.
