Strong Storms to our South

| February 10, 2013 @ 5:12 pm

Moderate and heavy rain continues to fall across Central Alabama, strong and severe thunderstorms are ongoing across Southwest Alabama and Southern Mississippi. Looks as though the main severe weather threat has shifted south of much of our area.

Numerous tornadoes warning to our south, and it looks as though a tornado is heading toward the Hattiesburg, Mississippi area. Law enforcement across south Mississippi have been reported significant damage with this one cell and numerous reports of a tornado on the ground from trained storm spotters. A very dangerous situation across the area.

For the rest of Alabama, can’t give  all clear yet, but he rain has really stabilized the atmosphere. Rain will continue to fall and flooding will remain the main threat for the rest of the evening.
