As expected, widespread showers are developing across Central Alabama.

There was even just a lightning bolt north of Graysville in northwestern Jefferson County.

So far, the race has not been marred by any rain. One shower passed just west of the track about an hour ago and intensified as it passed to the north.

Heavy showers northeast of Childersburg are worrisome, but it appears that they may stay just west of the track as they move north northeast.

But a new shower has just developed just east of Winterboro though is the one that might bring the first delay. It is a little less than an hour out. We will be tracking in.
