Showers and thunderstorms are northwestern Alabama and eastern Mississippi this evening, as if on cue according to the forecast.

Heavy storms are over Colbert, Lauderdale and Lawrence Counties. Other are about to enter Lamar County.

This activity is pushing southeastward into the state.

To the south, storms are over Chilton County, They are pushing northward, but they have already reached their peak, as evidenced by a northward moving outflow boundary they exhausted a short while ago. You can see the thin arc of radar echoes extending like a crescent from eastern Bibb County across northern Chilton County and into Coosa County. The outflow is triggering developing storms over Bibb County.

You can expect at least a couple of rounds of showers and storms between now and tomorrow night, thanks to upper level disturbances and an approaching cold front.
