Another sparkling morning across Alabama… some quick temps at 5:00…

We warm quickly today, with upper 80s likely this afternoon with a sunny sky.

TOMORROW AND THE WEEKEND: The weekend forecast is getting a little muddy with a variety of solutions from the array of model output we see. For now, we won’t change the forecast much; tomorrow looks dry, we have a chance of scattered showers and storms Saturday, with the best chance of showers shifting down into South Alabama Sunday. The 00Z GFS is trying to suggest showers and storms will hang around statewide Sunday; lets wait for the 12Z run before we adjust the forecast.

Afternoon highs will remain in the 80s over the weekend.

NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND: The weather looks relatively dry early next week; any showers Monday through Wednesday will be pretty isolated. Highs will remain generally in the upper 80s, maybe touching 90 at times as the eastern U.S. trough weakens a bit and the ridge tries to rebuild.

Peeking into early July, still no sign of any runaway heat; the weather looks pretty routine for summer with warm muggy days and the risk of scattered, mainly afternoon showers and storms on just about a daily basis. The tropics remain quiet for now…

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.

Look for the next Weather Xtreme video here by 3:30 or so this afternoon. Enjoy the day!
