Alabama at 9:15 pm
Not many showers or storms left across Alabama at 9:15 tonight.
Several slow-movers were over Extreme North Alabama mainly over West Lawrence County and the SE edge of Franklin County. Another one over South Limestone. NWS in Huntsville posted a Significant Weather Alert for Lawrence County until 9:30. This was based on a strong thunderstorm NW of Moulton moving SE at 20. Could produce hail 1/2 inch in diameter and gusts to 50, frequent dangerous lightning and heavy downpours as it moved SE toward:
Hatton
Moulton
Wren
Speake
At 8:55 pm, hail 1/2 inch in diameter was reported 4 miles SE of Tanner.
The small thunderstorm that moved ever so slowly down through the edge of Jefferson County and East Tuscaloosa County is all but played out over North Bibb County.
There were other thunderstorms over SE Alabama scattered between Troy and Dothan. Earlier this afternoon a bolt of lightning set a house afire in South Alabama. Seems like that has happened relatively often lately.
