Mostly Sunny, Warmer

Not a bad looking Saturday across much of the state. Skies are mostly sunny, and we have all warmed up nicely into the 40s. I use that term loosely as these observations are some 5-10 degrees below normal for this time of year. However, compared to what is coming our way, these values are considered a heat wave. For the rest of the afternoon, not expecting temps to change all that much.

We are seeing a few areas of patchy clouds over southwestern Alabama, and seeing mostly cloudy and overcast conditions in southeastern portions of the state. We will see the clouds slowly increasing heading into the overnight hours. Our flow has shifted out of the south and will continue to bring more moist air into the area. Those clouds will act as a blanket tonight and will not allow our temperatures to be so cold tonight. For most locations, lows are expected to remain above freezing tonight.
