Two Main Areas of Hail; Radar Update

Here are our two main storms producing hail this morning.

The image is of the Vertically Integrated Liquid product from the NWS-88D Doppler radar out of Atlanta.

One is crossing I-20 between Lincoln and Anniston. It produce quarter sized hail and 40 mph wind gusts near Stemley at 5:31 according to a report to James via Twitter. You can see that storm report posted on this Gibson Ridge radar grab just northwest of the city of Talladega.

The other hail core is moving into Georgia and the NWS in Atlanta has laid out a severe thunderstorm warning along its projected path in their counties.

In Central Alabama, our band of rain and storms continues marching east. Here is the radar at 5:55:

Severe weather is expected later today from Tallahassee and Jacksonville FL up the East Coast to Delaware as this system keep pushing eastward. Here is the SPC Day One Severe Weather Outlook:
