A Few Snow Showers Persist

We still continue to monitor snow showers across Central Alabama tonight. Depending on your location these showers are moving in different directions. West of I-65, a few light showers are heading towards the southeast. They are impacting areas around Jasper, Hamilton, and Double Springs. These will likely move into Jefferson and Tuscaloosa counties and could cause a few more slight accumulations, nothing major though.

East of I-65, the main area of snow continues to lift off towards the north and east. To the south of I-20 in East Alabama, heavier showers are moving towards the east and are affecting Chambers and Lee Counties, but will be into Georgia soon.

A reminder that temps will continue to fall overnight as many locations are expected to reach the upper 20s. That means snow and ice will hang around until tomorrow morning. That also means that road conditions are not expected to improve overnight either. I urge everyone to stay where you are for the night and enjoy the snow. Conditions will slowly improve through the day tomorrow as our temps will climb into the 40s
