When everyone should be fast asleep.

Not many people sleeping in NE Jefferson County because of the severe lightning and the rolling thunder.

LOCATING THE MAIN STORMS AT MIDNIGHT

….NE Jefferson County, NE of Trussville along I-59
….Near Fayette
….Near Ohatchee in Calhoun County
….East Tallapoosa County
….Near Lafayette, Chambers County

The storms in Extreme NW Alabama have all but dissipated.

For a time, rain was heavy, lightning was severe and small hail occurred for a few minutes. That storm is still kicking out lots of lightning bolts but now mainly between Trussville and Springville.

Because of that particular thunderstorm, NWS continues a Significant Weather Alert for Blount, Jefferson and St. Clair until 12:30 am.
