Alabama 811 | Know What's Below.

Most Gorgeous Day

| April 26, 2014 @ 1:29 pm

If your only desire is to walk in the rain, then today is definitely NOT for you. As you can see from the visible satellite image below, Alabama is being bathed in lots of sunshine. The only clouds were some fair weather cumulus along and just inland from the Gulf Coast.

The wind had already come around to the south or southeast as we watch for moisture to begin returning ahead of a slow moving, lumbering closed low at 500 millibars. The low will help to generate several rounds of severe weather starting later today in a band just east of the Rockies and affecting us from Monday into Wednesday.

Temperatures were edging toward the lower 80s for the afternoon.
