Heads Up Lamar and Pickens

Dangerous tornadic storms are less than 75 minutes from Lamar County and less than 2 hours from Pickens County.

We want our friends in Lamar and Pickens Counties to go ahead and rehearse their tornado safety plans and be near their safe places.

The first storm near Ackerman will pass near Starkville and then near West Point and Caledonia. It will move into Lamar County near Vernon.

The second storm is about 20 miles southwest of Louisville MS. It will likely impact Lousiville or Noxapater then pass near Columbus MS. It will move into northern Pickens County near Macedonia or over southern Lamar County near Millport between 530 and 6 p.m.
