DRYING OUT: The sky has become partly to mostly sunny across much of Alabama this afternoon…

Clouds are hanging tough over the southeast counties of the state.

Thankfully rain is tapering off over the Florida Panhandle; historic flooding is still in progress from Orange Beach over to Pensacola.

TOMORROW/FRIDAY: Expect a mix of sun and clouds both days; the high tomorrow will be around 70, with low 70s Friday. Mornings will be cool with lows in the upper 40s.

FINE WEEKEND: Expect sunny weather Saturday and Sunday; upper 70s Saturday followed by low to mid 80 Sunday as the warm-up continues. Great weekend for racing at Talladega.

Looks like a big part of next week will be warm and dry with highs in the 80s thanks an upper ridge building just west of the state.

AT THE BEACH: Generally cloudy weather from Panama City to Gulf Shores through Friday with scattered showers and storms. The weekend, and much of next week looks dry with sunny days and fair nights. Highs along the immediate coast will hold in the low 70s, with 80s inland by the weekend. The sea water temperature this afternoon at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab is 73 degrees.
