Two Lines of Thunderstorms

| July 31, 2008 @ 4:56 pm | 3 Replies

We now have two lines of thunderstorms across North Alabama.

The southward most line at 4:50 pm extended generally along the Fort Payne-Guntersville-Cullman-Jasper-Fayette-Vernon line. This line of storms has become disorganized in places and, overall is not as strong. Strongest storms in the line were from Guntersville eastward.

The newest line of storms was over Extreme North and NW Alabama from about Decatur to Florence. Strongest storms over Limestone County. NWS/Huntsville has Limestone County under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 5:30 for nickle size hail and gusts over 60.

Loads of lightning with this storm..
