Storm Update at 5:00 pm

Storms were firing across much of the northern third of Alabama but still remained scattered.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch until midnight – see post below.

Storms were in an area from near Berry in Fayette County across much of Walker and Cullman counties. This band of storms was moving south at about 15 – 20 mph.

Another storm was in central Cherokee County just to the east of Centre over the eastern portions of Weiss Lake.

Storms in Cullman County were poised to move into western sections of Blount County.
