The following counties in West Alabama are under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning: northern Greene, northern Hale, much of Pickens, northern Sumter and extreme SW Tuscaloosa Counties…
Line of intense storm extends from near Columbus MS to Ethelsville and Macedonia to between Pickensville and Carrollton to near Union in Greene County to near Akron in Hale County. The line is pushing SSW at some 15-20 mph. Large hail, torrential rains and deadly lightning are accompanying the storms. High winds are a potential threat also.
