Storms Beginning to Fire…

| August 3, 2008 @ 2:05 pm | Reply

A few showers are forming now from cumulonimbus clouds that are beginning to poke up into the atmosphere across Central Alabama this afternoon.

One is in Etowah County west of Gadsden…
Two others are in Clay County west of Ashland and NE of Lineville…
A larger one is stradlling I-65 between Clanton and Prattville…

These cells will likely become thunderstorms radpily and intensify quickly. They will become quite strong.

Others will form as we head through the late afternoon and early evening hours. They will all be capabe of torrential rains and deadly lightning. The stronger storms will have the potential for producing damaging winds, and these storms deserve your respect.

Go inside a safe building if you see a storm developing nearby or see one approaching.
