Dry, Warm Weather Through Mid-Week

| October 5, 2015 @ 3:18 pm

THIS AFTERNOON: The sky is mostly sunny over the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama, where temperatures have soared into the mid 80s. Elsewhere, we have a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures in the 78-82 degree range. Nothing on radar.

Temperatures

MID-WEEK: A building upper ridge will bring warm, dry weather to the state tomorrow through Thursday with mostly sunny days and fair nights. Highs rise into the low 80s tomorrow, and mid 80s Wednesday and Thursday. Early morning lows will be mostly in the 60s.

FRIDAY: A surface front will slip into the state at the end of the week, and a few widely scattered showers or storms could accompany it Friday afternoon or Friday night. The rain shouldn’t be too widespread or especially heavy since the main upper support will be well to the north of the state, and moisture will be pretty limited. Friday will be another warm day with a high in the mid 80s.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Temperatures back off a few degrees; looks like the high will be close to 80 Saturday and Sunday afternoon with a good supply of sunshine both days. Morning lows will dip into the 50s early Sunday.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Alabama will host Arkansas at Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday evening (6:00p CT kickoff)… the sky will be mostly fair, with temperatures falling from 75 degrees at kickoff into the mid 60s by the final whistle. Auburn takes this weekend off.

NEXT WEEK: Quiet weather continues with dry conditions Monday through Wednesday with highs in the low 80s. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

TROPICS: Joaquin will become post-tropical in coming days as it moves eastward through the North Atlantic; it will be north of the Azores Thursday. Another wave in the Central Atlantic is disorganized, and the chance of anything really signifiant developing there looks small.

AT THE BEACH: Look for mostly sunny days and fair nights on the Gulf Coast from Panama City Beach west to Gulf Shores through Sunday; only a few widely scattered showers this weekend there. See the complete Gulf Coast 7 Day Planner here. The Gulf Coast Beach Forecast is presented by Gulf Shores Plantation by Mandoki Hospitality Vacation Rentals. Escape to Gulf Shores Plantation where memories last a lifetime.
