Gates Open at Martin Dam

The NWS in Birmingham issued the Public Information Statement you see below to notify people that may have property along the Lower Tallapoosa and Alabama rivers that gate operations have begun at Martin Dam. According to the statement, two (2) gates are open now.

With saturated ground and additional rain expected, flooding issues across the southern half of Alabama may become prevalent this morning and into the afternoon.

MARTIN DAM. THERE ARE NOW 2 GATES OPEN.

INTERESTS DOWNSTREAM OF MARTIN DAM SHOULD STAY INFORMED OF REVISED
RIVER FORECASTS FOR THE LOWER TALLAPOOSA AND ALABAMA RIVERS.
