Midday Nowcast: Some Storms Today; High Impact Severe Weather Outbreak This Weekend
A quick moving system is bringing rain and some storms back to Alabama. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) maintains a “marginal risk” (level 1 of 5) for severe storms this afternoon across much of Alabama.
Alabama Death Toll Now 53
ABC3340 News reports that the death toll from today’s tornadoes and damaging winds is 53. At least 12 have died in Walker County…which has another of the hardest hit places today… I am not sure whether this includes a report we have from Phil Campbell of 13 fatalities and untabulated fatalities in Hackleburg.
