RADAR CHECK: Showers have developed over parts of West Alabama this afternoon, generally in areas southwest of Tuscaloosa. Showers are possible statewide tonight with a mostly cloudy sky; the low will be in the mid to upper 60s.
Some clouds and some showers are possible this afternoon and evening across Alabama. Highs this afternoon are in the mid and upper 80s, and overall it is a fairly decent day of weather across the state.
QUIET WEATHER DAY AHEAD: Alabama is rain-free early this morning; we note a few showers to the west over Mississippi. High resolution models suggest a few showers will be around later today, mainly over the western half of the state… otherwise we expect a mix of sun and clouds with a high in the mid 80s.
RADAR CHECK: The showers that were over parts of West and South Alabama earlier today have mostly dissipated. The sky is sunny over the northern counties, with some patchy clouds over the rest of the state. Tonight will be mostly fair with a low in the 60s; a few cooler spots could reach the 50s.
For today and tomorrow, we will mention the chance for some showers, and the best chance of a passing shower will come now over southern portions of the state. Heat levels are lower and highs today will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s, followed by low 80s Friday.
RADAR CHECK: Scattered showers are moving over the southern half of Alabama early this morning, generally south of U.S. 80 (south of a line from Demopolis to Montgomery to Opelika). The northern half of the state is dry, where a few spots have dipped into the 50s again.
RADAR CHECK: Most of Alabama is dry this afternoon with a good supply of sunshine… we note a few small, isolated showers over the far southern counties of the state. Some clouds will move into the state tonight, and a few scattered showers are possible over the southern half of the state after midnight and during the day tomorrow.
Plenty of sunshine today and with lower dew points, showers will be nearly impossible to find across Alabama today. After the refreshing start to the day, temperatures are surging into the upper 80s and lower 90s due to the dry air in place.
