ACTIVE NIGHT AHAED: We have just a few isolated showers over Northwest Alabama at mid-afternoon. Earlier today there was one small supercell storm that clipped the northwest corner of the state near Waterloo, producing a tornado.
Tornado Watch #305 is in effect until 10 PM for parts of North Alabama and southern Tennessee, including Huntsville, Florence, Cullman, and Fayetteville.
A Tornado Warning is in effect until 12:45 PM for parts of Lauderdale and Colbert counties, with radar indicating rotation near J.P. Coleman State Park. Residents in areas like Riverton, Zip City, and Waterloo should take cover immediately.

Most of us are dry today, but we are seeing some showers and storms across the Tennessee Valley of the state. Widespread severe storms will develop this afternoon to our north, and these will move south into and through Alabama this evening and overnight.
QUIET START: No rain on radar across Alabama at daybreak; temperatures are in the 70s. We rise into the 87-91 degree range today with a mix of sun and clouds. Most of the day will be dry; a few showers or storms could try and form along an outflow boundary over the Tennessee Valley this afternoon, but the main round will come after 5:00 p.m. as a dynamic weather system brings the chance of severe thunderstorms to parts of the Deep South.
WARM AFTERNOON: Temperatures are mostly in the mid to upper 80s across Alabama this afternoon with a partly to mostly sunny sky. We expect only isolated showers tonight with a low in the 68-73 degree range.
We are seeing a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the upper 80s with some low 90s are showing up. A few isolated showers and storms are possible this afternoon and tonight; most places will be rain-free.

RADAR CHECK: Patches of mostly light rain are over far North Alabama early this morning in the wake of stronger storms that moved through during the pre-dawn hours.
