Terry, is your new little buddy healthy? I hope he didn’t have any ill effects from being out in the cold and stuck to the tracks. He looks comfy and cozy in that picture…kudos to you for opening your home to the little guy.

  7. Wayne In Georgia Says:

TAKE TWO: Hey bks: Great name for the dog, LUCKY. Love a happy ending.

  8. Dana Says:

P.S.: Love how the pattern on the blanket he’s laying on says “home sweet home”…how fitting.

  9. Terry/Bessemer Says:

He seems healthy Dana, Gary the guy that found him, showed me a small spot on the little dogs chest, where his knife knicked him a little, when he was getting his off the tracks..but it looks fine, healing up good. He has a great appetite, has played and has done his business a couple of times too, when I took him out for that :D Getting started on potty training.

Lucky is a great name but we named him Track, thought of Choo-Choo but Track sounds more manly :)

Terry, God bless you! What a sweet puppy! From the looks of his picture he hasn’t missed many meals. I am sure he will be a great addition to your family. I think Track is the best name ever!

That is so awesome, tears are streaming down my cheeks, but there are thousands out there in the same situation, we have to get this animal population under control.

Thank goodness.. I felt awful when I saw that picture of him this morning on the tracks that was just terrible, I’m so happy for him he looks like one of those fuzzy fluffy playful dogs with that sweet puppy breath!I love all critters and I’m glad he didn’t have to go to the pound..I bet he will get so big..Have fun with that potty training….

  21. Chad Says:

Wish all stories had such a happy ending! Wonderful!

  22. Dana Says:

Thanks for the reply, Terry. I’d have been B’ham-bound from down here in Columbus when I got off work if the pup hadn’t found a home yet…but looks/sounds like he’s going to have a great home.

  23. Mary Frances Says:

God bless this little miracle of Little Feet – guess we can’t call him that – looks like he’s gonna have big feet! Terry and family, thanks for adopting this special little puppy! I see several names suggestions for him – TRAX is cute, I was gonna suggest LUCKY! Because he sure is!!
For this little one saved, 60 pets (mostly beautiful dogs) were taken to Montgomery Humane Society this past wekend due to owner not being able to care for them and they would’ve have frozen or starved to death in this frigid cold.
If you can adopt call them at 334-409-0622, or google Montgomery (AL) Humane Society for website. They had some beautiful pups, Elmore County Humane Society does as well. God bless them all and thanks for taking time to PAWS for the cause! A happy ending to this little fella stuck between the railroad tracks!
    Happy Trails!

Track had a good night..didn’t apperciate the playpen that was suppose to be his bed..lol..So he slept with me and my husband..with his head on my husband’s shoulder, all night :D

  26. Anne Says:

This is the saddest story with the most happy ending. This puppy had everything stacked against him but had not one or two but five guardian angels. The man that found him is a hero. Thanks to him and his wife for taking care of the little guy and for notifying ABC 33/40. Thanks to James Spann for getting the story out there. Thanks to Terry and her husband for opening their home and giving this little one a home to grow up in. Your love for him and his love for you will be forever. This dog has a purpose. Thanks all!!!!

  27. Lois McLean Says:

Thank you to everyone for all the kind words. I have tried to respond to every email I have received. After James Spann blogged the puppy story, we received many emails from people wanting to adopt the puppy. Just as my husband was drawn to that track at that time, we were drawn to Terry’s email. She is a very sweet lady that loves animals and I am confident that Track will be loved for a very long time. Thank you Terry for opening your hope and adopting this sweet puppy.
