WARMEST SO FAR THIS YEAR: As an upper high builds into Alabama from the west, the warming trend will continue in coming days. We project a high in the upper 80s today, and tomorrow we should reach 90 degrees for the first time since September 12, 2013. Lots of sunshine both days.

FRIDAY: A weak back door front could bring a brief shower or thunderstorm to the northeast corner of the state; otherwise the day should be dry and hot with a high around 90 degrees.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: Not much overall change. A large majority of Alabama will be rain-free Saturday and Sunday with a high around 90… just a few isolated afternoon showers over the far northern counties of the state. Moisture levels will deepen a bit Monday, so a few isolated afternoon showers or storms could fire up, but the chance of any one spot getting wet Monday is only about one in five.

Not much change into the middle of next week; warm, humid days with some risk of widely scattered afternoon storms Tuesday through Thursday. Another words, just like summer. See the Weather Xtreme video for the maps, graphics, and details.

AT THE BEACH: Sunny days, fair nights through Sunday from Panama City to Gulf Shores. Highs on the immediate coast around 80, and closer to 90 inland. Sea water temperatures remain mostly in the upper 70s. A few widely scattered showers could show up down there early next week, but no sign of any widespread rain.
