At 1033 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that one to one and a half inches of rainfall has already fallen in many locations west of Courtland. An additional one half to one inch of rain is possible through 130 AM CST. This will produce additional flooding concerns.
Rain and some thunder will continue to push across Alabama through the rest of the overnight. No severe weather is expected.
DeKalb County continues under the severe thunderstorm watch. All other counties have been cleared.
Activity over Alabama has weakened a bit, but the threat of some damaging wind gusts continues. Lightning output to the west is ramping up, however, and this activity will be working towards us later this evening.
Damaging Wind Threat For Another 1-2 Hours, Additional Watch Not Expected
Rain and thunderstorms continue across North and Centra Alabama this evening. Additional rain and storms will continue overnight.
At 630 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Plevna to Redstone Arsenal, moving east at 55 mph.
At 605 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 10 miles west of Fayetteville to Tanner, moving northeast at 70 mph.

At 538 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Hackleburg to near Guin, moving northeast at 65 mph.
At 527 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located over Lexington, or 19 miles south of Lawrenceburg, moving east at 45 mph.
At 526 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Hackleburg to Sulligent, moving east at 55 mph.
At 514 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Detroit to near Caledonia, moving northeast at 65 mph.
