AT 1005 AM CST, A CONFIRMED TORNADO WAS LOCATED OVER AKRON, OR 7 MILES NORTHEAST OF EUTAW, MOVING EAST AT 50 MPH.
At 1000 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Pisgah, or 8 miles east of Scottsboro, moving northeast at 55 mph.
Instability is present in sufficient amounts and the wind shear is more than ample for the storms across West Central Alabama. At 954 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Lauderdale, moving east at 45 mph.
At 942 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located over Dodge City, or 8 miles south of Cullman, moving east at 60 mph.
At 941 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles north of Skyline, or 18 miles south of Winchester, moving northeast at 55 mph.
NWS Birmingham has cancelled the Tornado Watch for Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Winston counties in Central Alabama, but continues the watch for Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Chilton, Coosa, Etowah, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker counties in Central Alabama until 1 pm.
The NWS BMX has upgraded the TOR for Greene and Sumter to confirmed based on a debris signature on the radar. Strong rotation is show just south of Gainesville. It will pass near or north of Boligee. If you are in Eutaw you must go to a safe place now.
