Showers are beginning to pop up over West Alabama this evening.

At 8:35 p.m., NWS Doppler radar from Calera showed showers over Franklin, Marion and Winston Counties. Lighter showers were over Fayette and northern Tuscaloosa Counties into Pickens and Greene Counties.

They are moving east at 25 mph. They are increasing in coverage and intensity.

Showers will continue to develop and move into Alabama overnight ahead of a deepening trough and developing cold front. Rain will be likely on Monday. There could be a clap or two of thunder in some locations, but thunderstorms will be scarce.
